You negotiate every day. You just don't call it that.
Asking a report to change how they work. Splitting scope with a peer. Pushing back on a deadline. There is a polite, competent answer to each of these — and it usually costs you something. Path2Negotiate shows you what.
Try one · one real card, no account
You manage a four-person data team. Ana, who runs marketing, catches you after standup: "I need a dedicated analyst on my team from next month." You have no spare headcount, and moving one of your four would hurt. Ana has never asked you for headcount before.
What do you say to Ana?
Material
Learn the established tactics
Every tactic in the library is one the field already had a name for, taught in negotiation courses and books long before this app existed. You are learning what the other side was taught.
- and more…
Loop
Four steps, on every tactic
A session is 5 items and takes about ten minutes. Reviews that have come due are served first, then new material in curriculum order — so the queue never grows faster than you can hold it.
Progression
Three standings, per tactic
Progress is tracked one tactic at a time, not as a single score. Picking the strong line off a list of four is not the same skill as saying it to someone who pushes back.
Learning
Meet it cold
The situation, four plausible answers, a timer. What made the best answer best comes after you pick — you learn from cases, not from theory.
Familiar
You can spot it
Two strong picks in a row. This one decays — one weak pick and the tactic goes back to Learning, because recognition really does fade.
Mastered
You can say it
Two clean drills. No options to choose from — you speak, they push back, you answer again. Mastery never decays.
Start with one full loop – 5 cards and a drill. No card.
The library
Five families, one map
Every tactic belongs to a family, and your progress screen shows which families you read fluently and which still need reps. Nothing is behind a level gate — the curriculum decides the order, not a score.
Price
One payment
Run a full loop for free and see if it works. If it does, you pay once and keep it.
Before you start
One caveat before you start
These tactics rest on four patterns that hold across cultures — but how you use them, and sometimes whether they help at all, depends on who you're talking to. Directness, silence, and how people build trust vary a lot across cultures. Read the person in front of you; treat these as defaults, not rules. Deeper cultural guidance is coming to future products.
Ten minutes a day, on the conversations you were having anyway.
Start with one full loop – 5 cards and a drill. No card required.
Questions
Before you sign up
Who is this for?
Anyone who gets their work done through colleagues — engineers, leads, product, QA, managers. Not managers only, and not a sales course: there is no customer, no pipeline and no closing technique anywhere in the library. Every case here comes from software work: delivery slipping, one-to-ones, asking another team for something, the meeting where a decision quietly gets made.
Do I have to say the answers out loud?
Yes, for drills. Choosing from a list is one skill; saying it to someone who pushes back is another. If you cannot talk where you are, type it instead — it is scored the same.
Is my voice recorded?
No. The audio is sent for transcription and discarded — it is never written to disk or to storage. What is kept is the text of what you said and how long you spoke.
How long does a session take?
5 items, about ten minutes. A card is answered under a timer; a drill is two turns and runs up to three minutes. Reviews that have come due are served before new material, so the queue never grows faster than you can hold it.
Do I need to know anything about negotiation first?
No, and you are not asked to read anything first. You meet each tactic as a situation with four plausible answers, pick one under time, and the theory arrives in the reveal — after your answer, where it means something. Foundations come first in the curriculum.
Can I lose progress?
Mastered is permanent: two clean drills and the tactic is yours for good. Familiar you can lose — one weak pick drops it back to Learning, because recognition fades. Either way it comes from your own answers, and no one can change it by hand.
What does it cost?
5 case cards and one drill are free — one full loop, no credit card. After that it is €24, paid once. No subscription.
Is this about salary negotiation?
Not mainly. The cards are the conversations you already have every week — feedback to someone who reports to you, splitting scope with a peer, pushing back on a deadline. The tactics carry over to a salary conversation, but that is one situation out of many rather than the point.
